Hi, I'm a social worker and would like to lease a car, 10000 miles a year £200, Max
no deposit, 4 or 5 year lease, choice car - Seat Leon or Honda civic, can you help?
Yes we can.
Could you please advise me of the progress of my recent application?
You should have been contacted by now by an advisor from the Motor Group.
Are you saying no one texted you, emailed or phoned?
I have not heard from anyone regarding my leasing application.
In the meantime until the advisor contacts you, may I ask you how your credit history is like?
I have not applied for credit for three years or more,
due mainly to the fact that I have previously had difficulties, but I have been involved in a debt repayment scheme and have not defaulted on any of my payments since the start of this arrangement. I have never been to Court for non payment of debt.
When you say you have been involved in a debt repayment, as in the past and is it over and for how long was it till you paid the last payment or are you paying still?
I assume you can prove income via pay slips?
do you have credit cards or any loans in your name at the moment?
How long have you lived in your current address?
answering above will help me help you further.
I am still repaying the debt management scheme, £342 each month, and there is a couple of years still to run. I have no credit cards or loans at present and I can provide bank statements to verify my income. I have been living at my stated address for the past seven years.
It would have helped if you picked the bad credit option from the beginning as you clearly have bad credit history. As you didn't do that, your quote request went to the prime funding department, which requires good credit history. It takes at least one working day to get approval, then the team was puzzled and why they won't getting approval and anywhere in your behalf, as they assume you had good credit history. Then they tried the subprime department which is more flexible with customer credit history. However, this creates even more delays.
Then why wasn't I approved?
You asked for a
no deposit car deal. I cannot see you getting that arrangement as anyone that was on a DMP has to pay a deposit, let along someone that is currently on a DMP. It is not wise to ask for more credit when you are already trying to pay off old debts.
In certain circumstances the funder might ask for you to pay a £1000 deposit and you need to get approval from your DMP company to allow you to get into more debt by leasing a car.
In short, you have bad credit history, currently paying off old debts, have no deposit and want to get into more debt? If this is the case then I'm afraid leasing is not an option for you.
Have I understood this right or did I get something wrong?
You are absolutely right I should have given this more thought than I did. Thank you for your help and apologies for wasting you and your staff's time.
